The VoiceXML phone system is extremely similar to a website: For a website, users use their eyes to view contents and their mouse to click links for navigation. For a VoiceXML phone system, users use their ears to listen to contents, and their voice and/or the phone keypad for navigation. Like the HTML file for a web, the phone system uses VoiceXML file. When a customer calls in, the system reads out words that you edited into the VoiceXML file rather than re-plays pre-recorded audio tapes.
